Jim’s Dog Wash – How to stop your dog from shedding!

Everyone loves their fur baby, but there are certain things we don’t love. Let’s be real, your dog sheds. Fur gets on every article of clothing you own, on your furniture, and forms clumps throughout your house. The real question, however, is how do to stop your dog from shedding? While there are methods of adding Molasses or olive oil to their food, it’s not what the RSPCA would recommend. Here are three ways to get on top of your dog shedding:

Walking your dog daily is a great way to stop shedding

1. Brushing!

Daily brushing will help get rid of excess hair so that it doesn’t end up inside your house. Brushing also helps stimulate your dog’s hair follicles to keep their coat looking smooth, vibrant, and shiny.

2. Reduce Stress!

Dogs tend to shed more when they are stressed. So ensure that your pup gets daily exercise and plenty of time to play with you. Be sure to provide some toys that are in and can challenge them mentally.

Try to get the fur out in a controlled manner

3. Give them a Bath!

The final thing you can do is bathe your dog regularly and attempt a de-shedding. In this video, Jenn gives this treatment to a Burmese mountain dog, and while it is a lot of work, it will drastically reduce the amount of hair in your home.
