Open to the right operator
Start your own Jim’s division.
The system is already there. Use the Jim’s brand and proven system to franchise your business.
Understand the mindset first
A new division runs on our systems, our brand, and our support. You do not build from
scratch. What you bring is drive. You need to be motivated, willing to work hard, and
ready to lead from the front. Before anything else, here are the things that get checked.
01
The person
The door is open to anyone. The bar is what you have already proven. You need a track record of success, inside Jim’s or in your own business. A strong customer service record matters. If you already run a Jim’s franchise, the turnover should be in the $3,000 to $5,000 a week range.
Haydar Hussein started by mopping floors and cleaning toilets as a contractor. Today he runs close to
2,000 franchisees. That is the calibre we look for: people who have proven they do the work, treat customers
right, and build something real.
02
The business
The division must not conflict with one we already run. As an example, waterproofing showers was recently proposed and declined, since that work belongs to Jim’s Bathrooms.
Then I check demand. Our fees sit around 6% of turnover, so the business needs volume — potential for at least 100 franchisees over time. The work has to pay well too: franchisees need to be able to make at least $60 an hour, ideally $70.
03
Your background
Do you know the industry? Have you worked in it? Real experience changes everything.
Bill Colbanoglou built the laundry division after years of success in cleaning. That foundation gave him the knowledge to design a system that worked from day one.
04
The commitment
You rent the division. You do not buy it outright. The cost is around $25,000 in advance, which covers six months of fees.
Here is the key term. You hit 30 franchises within three years. Do that, and the division becomes yours. You sell, expand, or run it however you want.
05
The responsibility
You carry the load. You write the manual, design the uniforms and the logo, set up the website, and build the systems — all on top of recruiting your franchisees.
The deal in three numbers
You rent the division until you earn it. Hit the target and the asset
becomes yours.
